1949 Ngshaphu (1 May) to Hong Kong. Chinese style cover, f.w. Revenue stamp surch Gold Yuan $2000/$300 x10 + SYS Gold Yuan $1000 in block

1949 Ngshaphu (1 May) to Hong Kong. Chinese style cover, f.w. Revenue stamp surch Gold Yuan $2000/$300 x10 + SYS Gold Yuan $1000 in block of 6, in total of $26,000, tied by Kwangtung Ngshaphu cds. Cover opened at top. According to Patrick Choy, Kwangtung Postal District began to use postage rates based on Silver Yuan Base Currency on 29 Apr 1949 and the domestic letter rate was 4c = Kwangtung Gold Yuan $160,000 as at 6 May 1949. Therefore, as letter rate to Hong Kong and Macau was also 4c Silver Yuan, this example showed that the exchange rate was only $6500 Gold Yuan = Silver Yuan 1c five days ago in Kwangtung? Also, originating from the small town Ngshaphu is also scarce.1949.5.1 五十墟寄香港。
