Showing "via Japan San Francisco" annotation. Transit Mongtze French PO (1 Mar), Haiphong (16 Mar), Hong Kong (22 Mar), Seattle (Apr). Arrived New York (27 Apr). Smiliar to the Laokay A post, French Indo-China established a post office in Yunnanfu in 1902 without permission from the Chinese Government. It was named Mongtze B to keep a low profile until a permission to set up a post office was granted. Mongtze B was renamed Yunnanfu. About 20 covers from “Mongtze B” are known to survive. 1904.2.19 蒙自B局（雲南府）寄美國。掛號封，貼航海及商貿神像加蓋YUNNANSEN連中文面值四仙 + 六仙 + 十仙，銷極稀罕之蒙自B法國客郵局日戳。寫有“via Japan San Francisco”批示。3.1經蒙自法局，3.16經海防，3.22經香港，4月經西雅圖。4.27抵紐約。一如老街A局，法屬印支郵政在未經清政府批准擅自在雲南府設立郵局，在日戳上雋刻地名“蒙自B”以掩人耳目。1904年，清政府才同意法國在雲南府設局，於是改回“雲南府”地名。以“蒙自B” 地名發出的實寄封有20多件，是法國客郵中的罕品。

An exceptional example of official French diplomatic mail to a most uncommon destination; very few such examples of the Legation cachet have survived in private hands. 1963.8.2 法國駐京使館寄美國駐巴塘領事館。郵簡，鈐珍罕之“LEGATION DE FRANCE / EN CHINE”戳記。9.18經上海法局。寫有“2 5”郵資字樣。10.17抵巴達維亞。此例戳記清晰，唯略受打開信件造成的裂口影響。出類拔萃之法國外交公文郵件，目的地亦頗為少見，蓋有這款使館戳者寥寥可數。
