On 2 May 1953, a BOAC Comet 1 broke up mid-air and crashed near Calcutta six minutes after takeoff. All 43 passengers and crew members died

1943 a pair of WWI Government of Burma OHMS airmail covers from Major JGW Evans to his brother in England, f.w. KGVI issues. With “by fast airmail” annotation. Major Evans was part of the Burma Frontier Force in China. He was killed when leading his patrol of Lahu Levies which was the smallest operating unit in Burma and fought from December 1942 until Major Evans death on April 8th 1943 at Mong Pawk
