On 13 March 1954, a BOAC plane crashed and caught fire when it attempted to land at Kallang Airport.1954年新西蘭寄英國。空難封，貼新西蘭佐治六世及伊麗沙白二世票6枚，另鈐“SALVAGED MAIL AIRCRAFT CRASH SINGAPORE 13.3.1954”橫戳。1954年3月13日，一架英國海外航空飛機著陸加冷機場時意外墜毀。

1953 (2 May) "Comet" Crash cover from Burma to USA, f.w. Burma issue x8 on both sides, applied with "SALVAGED MAIL / "Comet" Crash, Near Calcutta / 2nd May 1933" cachet. On 2 May 1953, a BOAC Comet 1 broke up mid-air and crashed near Calcutta six minutes after takeoff.
