The cover was opened out for display. One of the 9 examples of Webb type 3 “SHANGHAE / POST OFFICE / PAID” h.s. recorded by Dr. Andrew Cheung. 2023 (Nov) AVA Auctions, lot 938, hammered at HKD28,000. Ex- Steve Chazen. 1861年上海經馬賽寄英國，背面鈐上海英國客郵局Webb 2型雙弧形日戳。正面鈐模糊但罕見之Webb 3型紅色“SHANGHAE / POST OFFICE / PAID”郵資已付戳、皇冠R章及“9”郵資字樣。2.26經香港。4.13抵倫敦，鈐郵資已付戳。此封被剖開以作展示。張文德醫生記錄的九件Webb 3型“SHANGHAE / POST OFFICE / PAID”圓戳存世例子之一。2023.11 艾華拍賣，拍品號938，以2萬8千元港幣落鎚。蔡盛舊藏。

A nice pair before and after the battle.937.6.28及11.30一對英軍1局（上海）寄英國封，貼多枚佐治六世票，銷英軍1局日戳。前者帶掛號標籤。淞滬會戰爆發於1937年8月13日至1月26日，一對日期為戰役前後之例子。

Transit Yokohama (7 Jan), Napoli (22 Jan). Arrived Rome with oval handfilled company d.s. (12 Feb). The uncancelled Hong Kong stamps were not recognized as valid postage upon arrival at Italy. T mark and "0.50" due annotation were applied. In combination with Italian 50c postage due stamp in pair for double due amount. Exceptional taxed example due to the closure of British Post in Japan. Extremely scarce.1886.1.1 長崎寄意大利，貼香港維多利亞女皇像10仙雙連，但由於長崎英國客郵局於1879年已關閉，故無蓋銷。背面蓋有長崎日本郵局始發日戳。1.7經橫濱，1.22經拿坡里。2.12抵羅馬，鈐手填橢圓形公司日戳。由於香港票未有蓋銷，故不獲意大利郵政承認，被判為欠資。蓋有T章及寫有欠資“0.50”字樣，貼意大利欠資票50分雙連，以合雙倍罰資。因英國在日客郵局關閉而產生之欠資票，極為有趣難得。
