1936 and 1939 a pair of Hong Kong FFC, including one 1936 (17 Feb) “Courtesy Air Flight” cover and one 1939 (10 Mar) Air France Hong Kong-Hanoi FFC. In Feb 1936, special first-flight airmail covers were carried on “courtesy flights” from Hong Kong to Kobe, Japan, utilizing RAF aircraft. These flights acted as diplomatic and exploratory goodwill missions along the Asian coast, routing through China.
