In early 1800s, senior officials of the East Indian Company in China could send private letters through the bags of the company’s ships. Scarce. It is one of the earliest East-West mail with postal markings. 1805.1.1 由James Crichton由廣州交東印度公司船隻郵包寄蘇格蘭，到達倫敦後付郵，郵局注明郵資“1/-”，是最早鈐郵戳的東西方郵件之一。1800年代初，東印度公司高層可交公司船隻郵包寄私人信件，並可從事私人貿易。少見難得。
