1894 Chefoo (27 Nov) to France. Registered cover, full postage paid by cash and f.w. Small Dragon 5ca for postage between Shanghai LPO and Customs Post (overpayment as 5ca was registered rate). Applied with Chefoo LPO origin cds on reverse. In combination with Hong Kong QV 5c in pair + surch 20c/30c by Shanghai LPO with "PAID" cachet. Then the cover was handed from Shangnhai LPO to Customs Post with scarce "REGISTERED" horizotnal h.s. Hong Kong stamps tied by Shanghai BPO (30 Nov) cds. Arrived Paris. Extraordinary joint delivery by local post, Customs and British Post. Usage of Small Dragon in this manner is also highly unusual. 1894.11.27 煙台寄法國。掛號封，寄件人以現金付全額郵資，再貼小龍5分銀付工部局至海關郵資（5分銀為掛號郵資，故溢貼）。背鈐煙台書信館始發日戳。到上海工部局後加貼香港維多利亞女皇像5仙雙連 + 改值20仙，另見“PAID”橫戳。再由工部郵局交海關郵政，鈐“REGISTERED”橫戳。香港票銷上海英局11.30日戳。抵巴黎。經大清、工部及英國客郵三方聯合投遞之例子，貼小龍票更是精彩難得。

1882 Netherlands (13 May) to Dutch Minister Peking. Dutch 2-1/2c PSC, uprated by 10c, tied by Hague cds. Transit with Singapore-To-Hong Kong marine sorter (17 Jun), Customs Tientsin (1 Jul). On address side with framed "PAID" cachet to indicate that Chinese domestic rate paid. Rare early example of this PAID cachet, not to mention applied on incoming mail. With Holcombe certificate. 1882.5.13 荷蘭寄荷蘭駐北京公使。荷蘭2-1/2分郵資片，加貼10分，銷海牙日戳。6.17經新加坡至香港海上分揀，7.1經天津海關，地址一面鈐帶框PAID橫戳，代表國內郵資已付。為此PAID橫戳之較早例子，用於進口郵件上更是出色。附Holcombe證書。

1896 (29 Dec.) registered cover front only, to France via Shanghai, showing “Chinese Imperial Post Office/ Peking/ Postage Paid” triple-ring bilingual h.s. in blue, matching “I.G. of Customs/Peking” double-ring origin d.s and ‘registered’ handstamp; also bearing France “Chine” 1f cancelled by “Shang-hai/Chine” c.d.s. (15.1.97) with ‘R’ handstamp. Transit Ligne N (16.1). Front only, Berteaux correspondence, nevertheless very early date for this first postage paid handstamp of the Imperial Chinese Post. 1896.12.29掛號封封面，自北京寄法國，鈐 “信力已付” 三圈圓戳、北京海關始發日戳及REGISTERED橫戳。加貼法國客郵1法郎，銷1.15上海法局日戳，另見R章。1.16經郵船N線。Berteaux書信。乃“信力已付”三圈圓戳之極早例子。

The dollar chop relates to either payment in cash, subscriber's card, or acceptance of foreign postage applied by the sender ("Postal Note, No. 14" of 3 Apr 1897). 2008 (6 Dec) Interasia "Imperial Dollar Daters of China - The W S Kong Collection Part 1", lot A3. Illustration fig 23-9, p. 162 in "Explore Dollar Daters (1897-1913)" by Philatelic Writers' Club. 1898.5.18 由廈門海關一名職員寄奧國。香港維多利亞女皇像4仙郵資片，鈐廈門棕色大圓戳（月份為閏三月）。5.19經香港。8.13抵德國。根據1897年4月3日第144號郵政通令，所蓋之大圓戳可代表寄件人已支付購買外國客郵之郵資，或已接受寄件人自貼之外國客郵郵票。 2008.12.6 Interasia“龔文生大圓戳專場第一部分”，拍品號A3。郵文聯誼會《大圓戳探索（1897-1913）》第162頁圖23-9原件。
