Latter 1940 Dah Tung Print SYS 5c with "HAD" instead of "DAH" on marginal inscription (Chan 403d). Both mint. 兩件帆船及孫像變異票四方連新。前者1930年北京一版帆船加蓋暫作壹分，右下一枚“Ct”漏點。後者1940年大東版孫像5分，廠銘誤作“HAD”而非“DAH”。

1912 and 1913 a pair of red band covers from Peking and Hwaiju, showcasing Peking cds without year and Hwaiju cds with character "Yuan" modified as "Er" respectively. Interesting special cds during early ROC years. 1912及1913年兩件出自北京及懷柔之紅條封，分別蓋有無年份之北京日戳及“元”改“二”年之懷柔日戳。為民國初期之特殊日戳年份特徵。

Stephen Yen stated that Chinese characters "Min Guo" were inserted into cds used in Hupeh perhaps to emphasize that this "1st Year" is different from Hsuan Tung 1st Year of 1909 or to demonstrate their pro-Republican stance. 1912.4.7 武昌寄北京。紅條封，背貼蟠龍3分，銷武昌府“民國元年”腰框英漢日戳。同日經漢口。4.11抵北京。嚴平西指湖北郵局使用帶有“民國′二字的日戳，目的可能有二，一為與1909年宣統元年有所區別，二是強調擁護共和的立場。
