1948 (Sep 3) Hong Kogn local registered cover, applied with scarce
Webb type Gi “Postage Paid/ 2/ Hong Kong” cds. in red, along with
Registered G.P.O. Hong Kong cds and registered label. It is the
rarest type of postage paid cds. On 3 Sep 1948, a typhoon hit Hong
Kong and the post office staff living in Kowloon were not able to
access the office in Hong Kong Island. These postage paid cds were
put in use during 11 am to 3.30 pm. Only a few examples of this
cancellation exist. Extremely scarce.
