In combination with Hong Kong KEVII 2c, tied by Swatow type 4 IPO tie-print and Hong Kong (28 Dec) cds. Arrived Hamburg (28 Jan). IPO tie-print on KEVII issues are not common as the latest usage of IPO tie-print was Jan 1906. Webb stated that KEVII issues were only found with Swatow type 4 and a manuscript IPO (which is uncertain to be genuine). Hence, a scarce example. 1905.12.27 汕頭寄德國。大清第二版郵資片之正片，加貼1分 + 2分，銷汕頭半切漢英日戳。加貼香港愛德華一世2仙，銷汕頭4型IPO騎縫戳及香港2.28日戳。1.28抵漢堡。由於IPO騎縫戳的最後使用記錄為1906年1月，故蓋於愛德華七世票上十分少見。Webb記錄道，愛德華七世票僅見於汕頭4型騎縫戳及一款未知真偽之手寫IPO字樣上。此例稀罕難得。

Showing Proud type I220 "DEFICIENT POSTAGE / FINE" marking at Hong Kong and "1s MORE TO PAY" oval marking. In total of 1sh/1d due on arrival was levied. It is the earliest usage of F1 obliterator in private (while other 2 covers with the same date are in Hong Kong Museum of History) as well as the earliest recorded usage of Hong Kong Deficient Postage marking. 1874.6.12 福州寄澳洲，貼香港維多利亞女皇像4仙 + 6仙，銷少見之F1殺手戳，另鈐福州府英局Webb B型日戳。6.13經香港。7.27抵墨爾本。鈐Proud I220型“DEFICIENT POSTAGE / FINE”資費不足橫戳及“1s MORE TO PAY”橢圓形戳記。到達時欠資合計1先令1便士。此為私人集藏中日期最早的F1封（另有兩件相同日期的信封藏於香港博物館），同時為蓋有香港資費不足戳之最早例子。

Arrived London (5 May). It is the earliest recorded letter from Shanghai. Historical. Existing correspondence from this early period are scarce as the foreign population was only 90 according to Webb. 1844.1.21 上海寄英國。郵簡，寫有“overland via Marseilles”及郵資“1/10”，鈐“FORWARDED BY / CHINA / HOLLIDAY WISER”及“INDIA”橢圓形戳記。經孟買。5.5抵倫敦。此為記錄中上海寄出之最早郵件。Webb指1840年代居於上海的外國人僅90名，故存世信件極罕。

Transit Hong Kong (12 Oct). Transit French paquebot (30 Nov). Webb recorded 3 examples on cover while Dr. Andrew Cheung recorded fifteen and it is one of the three addressing to France. It is also the 4th one offered by AVA. (The latest census records 18 examples, please see the list below). 17 covers were reported in HKPS 2014 census. However, the earliest only surfaced in Chazen sales of Ava Auction in 2013, bringing the total to 18. Reference: https://dev.hkpsociety.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/large-crown.pdf. Transit Hong Kong (19 Jul). Arrived Shanghai BPO with scarce Webb type 5 locally made "SHANGHAE" cds without date and type A cds. It is the only recorded example of "undated" type 5 cds and the latest record of its type. Bottom right corner damaged but not affecting postmark. 1863年英國寄上海，改寄橫濱。郵簡，貼維多利亞女皇像1先令X5 + 4便士，合鐵行輪船公司經馬賽郵路之四倍郵資，銷“2”殺手戳。7.19經香港。抵上海英局，鈐少見難得之本地製Webb 5型日戳（無日期）及A型日戳。此為未植日期之5型日戳存世弧例，同時為最晚之5型日戳記錄。封右下角有損但不影響郵戳。

1864 Ningpo (10 Feb) to Foochow via Shanghai and Hong Kong. Entire letter, rated "7 4 / 11" (7d French packet rate + 4d inter-treaty port rate = 11d), applied with Shanghae BPO Webb type 6 PAID cds and type A cds on the flap. The mail was carried by French packet Hydaspe from Shanghai to Hong Kong (24 Feb) and probably forwarded by P&O Formosa from Hong Kong to Foochow. It is the only recorded inter-treaty port example from Ningpo by French Packet at Shanghai to Hong Kong branch line. 1864.2.10 寧波經上海及香港寄福州。郵簡，寫有郵資“7 4 / 11”（7便士法國郵船郵資 + 4便士商埠間郵資，合11便士），鈐上海英局Webb 6型已付日戳及A型日戳。此信先於上海經法國郵船Hydaspe送至香港，再由鐵行輪船公司送至福州。此為自寧波經法國郵船送至香港分支航線之唯一商埠間郵例。

1869 Shanghai (1 Jul) to USA, f.w. Hong Kong QV 30c + 48c at top right and 6c at bottom right, tied by S1 type I and type II obliterator respectively, matching with Shanghae BPO cds on reverse. Showing "via San Francisco" annotation but actually sent via Suez. Transit Hong Kong (7 Jul), London (20 Aug). Markings "4CENTS" for trans-altantic rate and "Due 3 cents" for local redirection rate were applied. The sender probably underpaid with the top right two stamps only and he affixed the bottom left stamp afterward which explained why two types of S1 obliterator were applied. It is the only usage of two types of S1 obliterator on cover. 1869.7.1 上海寄美國，右上貼香港維多利亞女皇像30仙 + 48仙，左下貼6仙，分別銷I型及II型之S1殺手戳，背面另鈐上海英局日戳。雖寫有“via San Francisco”但實際上經大西洋送遞。7.7經香港。8.20經倫敦。“4CENTS”戳記為跨大西洋郵資，“Due 3 cents”則為美國本地轉寄郵資。寄件人可能一開始只貼了右上兩枚票，後來補貼左下一枚，故解釋為何使用了兩款S1殺手戳。此為同時蓋有兩款S1殺手戳之孤品。

Packet agency at Chefoo was not set up before 1903 and therefore this mail was first carried to Shanghai by local post. 1878.4.20 煙台經上海寄澳洲，先由商埠書信館送至上海，鈐上海工部郵局5.1日戳。正貼香港維多利亞女皇像2仙 + 6仙 + 16仙，銷III型黑色S1殺手戳，旁鈐上海英局Webb B型5.2日戳。5.8經香港。煙台郵政代理直至1903年才成立，故此封需先經商埠書信館送至上海中轉。
