ca 1870s Yokohama to USA, applied with “PACIFIC MAIL S.S. Co. / Yokohama Agency” circular marking on reverse. On front showing “per Macgregor “ annotation. F.w. US 10c, tied by cork obliterator and San Francisco cds. The Yokohama Agency was kept open until the end of 1875 because of problems with Hong Kong postal officials refusing to accept U.S. mail in the Japanese post. Japan started its own foreign mail service on 1 Jan 1875.

約1870年代橫濱寄美國，背鈐“PACIFIC MAIL S.S Co. / Yokohama Agency”藍色圓戳。正寫有“per Macgregor”批注。貼美國票10分，銷十字殺手戳及三藩市9.11日戳。橫濱美國郵理代理於1875年因香港郵政拒絕收取日本投遞之美國郵件而結束營業。同年日本自營寄國外郵政服務。
