1799 (Jan 29) outer wrapper written by James Crichton in Canton to his brother John Crichton in Dumfries, Britian, via Scottish port Ayr; sent “per Favour Captn. Gilmore Q.D.C” and rated “8” in black ink. On the flap with “AIR” handstamp and handwritten annotation. Rare cover delivered via a small Scottish port Ayr instead of London or Liverpool.

1799年1月29日郵簡封套，由James Crichton自廣州經蘇格蘭港口艾爾寄英國鄧弗里斯的兄弟John Crichton。正面寫有“per Favour Captn. Gilmore Q.D.C”字樣及“1/10”郵資字樣。背面蓋有“AIR ”地名橫戳及手寫批注。經由蘇格蘭小城艾爾而非倫敦及利物浦送遞的信件相當難得。
