1839 Cover front from Egypt to “T.O. Upjohn, Transport Eagle, Captn Patterson, Eastern Expedition, China”, showing fine strike of Waghorn type 7 “CARE OF MESSRS. WAGHORN & CO./LONDON. ALEXANDRIA.” (Sidebottom 7; Smith 7) handstamp. Arrived on 15 Jun 1842 according to manuscript. The Type 7 handstamp is scarce, with Smith recording only eighteen covers dated between Apr. 25, 1839, and Sep. 1841. Only about 5 Waghorn covers (or fronts such as this) are recorded to China, and probably unique to Opium War soldier.

1839年埃及寄“中國東方遠征軍”封面，鈐清晰之Waghorn 7型“CARE OF MESSRS. WAGHORN & CO./LONDON. ALEXANDRIA.” 兩行橫戳（Sidebottom 7; Smith 7）。按批注可知1942.6.15抵達。7型橫戳甚為少見，Smith記錄中僅見18例，日期為1839年4月25日至1841年9月間。Waghorn 封寄中国的不过5件左右，寄给鴉片戰爭军人的可能只此一件。
