1916 China Empire. 1916. Urga (17 Mar) to Kalgan. Red band cover, f.w. Junk 6c, tied by Urga (Hung Hsien) 1st year cds.Arrived Kalgan (27 Mar) with (ROC) 5th year cds. Faced with strong opposition, Yuan Shikai abducted from Emperor on 23 March and bacame President again, hence the era of the Republic was restored. Very interesting cover that overlapped the Empire and Republic period.

1916.3.17 庫倫寄張家口。中式封，背貼帆船6分，銷庫倫（洪憲）元年腰框英漢日戳。3.27抵張家口，鈐（民國）五年到達戳。袁世凱於3.23日退位，恢復共和。洪憲及民國紀年日戳共見於一封上，難得。
