1870.12.26 Packet front, from Macao to the Chief Postmaster in Lisbon, sent “Via GIBRALTAR” and rated “56sh” in red ink, f.w. Hong Kong QV 96c x 14, tied by B62 obliterator. Alongside bearing Crowned “PAGO EM MACAO” type 2-7-1 postmark, Macao index B type 3-3-2 cds and Gibraltar transit c.d.s. Only 3 covers (all fronts) with such large multiple franking are known. It is also the earliest recorded example of the Crowned “PAGO EM MACAO” type 3-3-2 postmark.
