1897 (23 June), a red band cover sent from Hong Kong to France, franked with HK QV 3 x 2c and 1 x 4c (total 10c postage), both tied by 3 French octagonal “LIGNE N PAQ. FR. No.9” and one more French Ligne N cancellation adjacent. On the reverse, three transit and arrival c.d.s. A very good quality cover with not often seen HK QV cover directly cancelled by French Ligne c.d.s. The mail was posted on board “S.S. Natal”, thought to be unique. Provenance: J.
