1899 Newchwang (6 May) to Shanghai. Registered cover, f.w. Coiling Dragon 4c + 5c, tied by Newchwang dollar cds in brown, alongside with type 8-1-1 Newchwang oval R mark. Arrived Shanghai (11 May). Late example of Newchwang brown dollar cds on cover as well as the earliest example of this type of R mark recorded by Paul K S Chang. Cover opened out for display. Ex- W S Kong, Steve Chazen. 1899.5.6 牛莊寄上海。掛號封，貼蟠龍4分 + 5分，銷牛莊棕色大圓戳，旁鈐8-1-1型牛莊橢圓形R章。5.11抵上海。封剖開以作展示。此為牛莊棕色大圓戳之較晚實寄封例子，同為張愷升記錄8-1-1型R章之最早例子。龔文生舊藏。郵文聯誼會《大圓戳探索（1897-1913）》圖1-13第29頁原件。
