1861 Shanghai (24 Oct) to France. Entire letter, sent "via Marseilles" and rated "9", applied with scarce Shanghae BPO Webb type 5 locally made cds. On front with Webb type H "GB / 1F62-4/10" accountancy mark. Transit Marseilles (12 Dec). It is the earliest recorded example of Webb type 5 cds.
