1853 Canton (24 May) to Shanghai. Consignee entire letter, showing “Consignee per Lady Mary Wood” annotation and Chinese delivery annotation by ink-brush. Given the monopoly of P&O for the extension from Hong Kong to Shanghai, the cost was high and therefore such consignee letters existed. Scarce example of consignee letter and it is the only one carried by Lady Mary Wood.

1853.5.24 廣州寄上海。提單信郵簡，寫有“Consignee per Lady Mary Wood”及中文毛筆批示。由於鐵行輪船公司壟斷香港至上海航線，故郵資甚高，並衍生出這類較便宜之提單信。稀罕難得，更是Lady Mary Wood號所送遞之唯一存世提單信。
