Limited For Use in Szechuan 5c in strip of 5 + 25c, in total of 50c international letter + domestic airmail rate, tied by Kangting bilingual cds. Transit Chengtu (4 Apr), Shanghai (6 Apr). On front with “AIRMAIL SERVICE IN CHINA ONLY” cachet. Scarce example of Batang, dated just after the confrontation between KMT and CPC during Long March. The usage of Kangting instead of Tatsienlu cds is also rather early.

1936.3.28 康定寄美國。航空封，貼孫像加蓋限四川貼用5分直五連 + 2角5分，合5角國際信函 + 國內航空郵資，銷 康定三格點線日戳。4.4經成都，4.6經上海。正鈐“AIRMAIL SERVICE IN CHINA ONLY”橫戳。出自巴塘之稀罕郵例， 日期更與長征期間國共追逐對峙時十分接近。另外亦是使用“康定”而非“打箭鑪”郵戳之甚早例子。
