"Tibet and Stamps and Postal History" recorded that Bataang was renamed as Baan after 1939 but obviously this example was much earlier. Cover flap damaged.1934.12.2 巴安寄德國，貼帆船及烈士加蓋限四川貼用3枚，合2角5分，銷“西康 / 巴塘”6.2型三格點線日戳。《青康藏郵驛史》記載巴塘於建省後改名為巴安，但此例更早。封舌有損。
