Despite datelined on the same day, one letters was deliberately hold back to lower the probability lost during delivery. 1847.11.20 一對廣州寄倫敦Frederick Huth & Co郵簡，寫有“via Marseilles”、“4/6”及“2/3”郵資，鈐香港中轉戳及倫敦到達戳。雖然於同一天書寫，但當中一件故意延遲寄出，以減低寄失機會。

One letter with Peter Shek’s original exhibit page. 1849.11 一對經相同船隻自廣州寄英國之郵簡，寫有“via Marseilles”、“4/1”及“1/10”郵資，鈐香港中轉戳及倫敦到達戳。兩封均由Braganza、Bentinck、Ripon及Admiralty號送遞。一件連石少東原展頁。

1853 Western style cover from China to USA, rated “44” and “65”, applied with London (20 Jul) and New York transit cds (4 Aug). Illustated in article “Hakodada, Japan June 1855”, “Japanese Philately Vol 47 No. 5” (Dec 1992). As European (except the Dutch) and American were not authorized to trade with Japan until 1859, mail service across the Pacific did not begin until 1867. This mail took Marseilles route and carried by Hindostan and Sultan. 1853年西式封自中國寄美國，帶郵資“65”及“44”，鈐倫敦7.20及紐約8.4中轉戳。《Japanese Philately Vol 47 No. 5》中《Hakodada, Japan June 1855》一文原件。由於歐美國家（除荷蘭）直至1859年才可與日本貿易，故跨太平洋郵政服務要到1867年才開通。此信經馬賽航線送遞，船隻為Hindostan及Sultan號。

Given the monopoly of P&O for the extension from Hong Kong to Shanghai, the cost was high and therefore such consignee letters existed. Scarce example of consignee letter and it is the only one carried by Lady Mary Wood. 1853.5.24 廣州寄上海。提單信郵簡，寫有“Consignee per Lady Mary Wood”及中文毛筆批示。由於鐵行輪船公司壟斷香港至上海航線，故郵資甚高，並衍生出這類較便宜之提單信。稀罕難得，更是Lady Mary Wood號所送遞之唯一存世提單信。
