Transit Shanghai (28 Jan), Tuticorin (16 Feb) to arrive Nepal (Kathmandu, 21 Feb). The Mission enjoyed provisions from yizhan in China and Tibet, but mail route was not yet open, hence the detour of this letter by sea route. Holcombe Certificate 1983. Ex-Chazen. 1909.1.9成都寄往“泥巴爾”，由貢使寄給尼泊爾大君，1.28經上海，2.16經印度Tuticorin，2.21到達加德滿都。貢使享用驛站招待，經四川走陸路回國，但陸路尚未通郵，需走水路才能送達。1983年豪琴證書，蔡盛舊藏。

1890 (May) letter to the King of Nepal Bir Shamsher by Sheng Tai, the Chinese Amban in Tibet, Darjeeling, applied with large red seal. Very rare Amban letter sent outside Tibet as the Chinese Amban Shengtai was in Calcutta to sign the Tibet Sikkim Boundary Convention by that time. The Convention recognized a British protectorate over Sikkim and demarcated the Sikkim–Tibet border. 1890年5月駐藏大臣升泰寄廓爾喀國王Bir Shamsher，鈐紅色官印。出自西藏以外的駐藏大臣公文非常稀罕。當時升泰正在加爾各答簽署《中英藏印條約》。主要內容是清朝承認哲孟雄（今錫金）為英國的保護國，劃定哲孟雄與西藏的邊界。

As the Jiaqing Emperor refused to support Nepal, Nepal turned to be the vassal state of Britain. 1815年清朝駐藏大臣對廓爾喀國王之回信，明確拒絕介入英廓戰爭及支援廓爾喀。蔡盛及王劍智著《青康藏郵驛史》第69頁圖例8號原件。由於嘉慶拒絕支援，廓爾喀淪為英國附庸並獲得特權。極具歷史意義。
