Lot 2517

1912 Unadopted Waterlow and Sons Tibet 1/3t imperf colour trial in green. Extremely scarce. Plus a pair of letters from the Postmaster of Gyantse British PO B C Butt 1912 (31 Oct) and 1913 (18 Apr) to England, stating that the issuance of Tibet stamps was in 1913 instead of Dec 1912. As Dalai Lama returned to Lhasa in the 12th month of Tibetan calendar (i.e. Jan of 1913), some people mistook the issuance of Tibet stamps was in Dec 1912. 1912年未被採納之華德路公司西藏1/3章噶綠色無齒試色票，極罕。附1912.10.31及1913.4.18 一對由江孜英國郵局局長B C Butt寄英國封，內容提到西藏郵票的發行年份為1913年，而不是1912年12月。由於達賴喇嘛在藏曆水鼠年12月才抵達拉薩（即1913年1月），部分人誤以為西藏郵票發行於1912年12月。蔡盛及王劍智著《青康藏郵驛史》第238頁圖例8號原件。
