1901 Paoting (Jul) to Germany via steamship Crefeld. CIP 2nd print PSC, uprated by 1/2c + 1c + 2c, tied by Paoting dollar cds. In combination with Germania ovpt. China 5pf, tied by extremely scarce "KAIS. DEUTSCHE SCHIFFSPOST DAMPFER CREFELD" circular postmark. Arrived Postdam (24 Oct). The steamship Crefeld was chartered from the Norddeutscher Lloyd Company to transport troops to Taku. It was given the Marine-shiffspost cancel No. 72. After the successful operation during Boxer Rebellion, Crefeld was again used to transport troops back to Germany but this time no Marine-Schiffspost cancel was used, instead a private "CREFELD DAMPFER" cancel. It was used only from Aug to late Oct 1901, hence, a great rarity.

DEUTSCHE SCHIFFSPOST DAMPFER CREFELD”圓戳。10.24抵Postdam。 汽船Crefeld號本屬北德意志-勞埃德公司，在八國聯軍時期被徵用以運送軍隊至大沽，當時使用海軍72局日戳。在戰事結束後，該船再次被用作運送軍隊回德國，但未有使用海軍郵局日戳，而用這款“KAIS. DEUTSCHE SCHIFFSPOST DAMPFER CREFELD”圓戳，使用時期僅見於1901年8月至10月底，為一大珍品。
