1874 (27 Nov) an envelope from Menton to Foochow Chine transit via Paris, Marseille and Hong Kong (17 Jan 1875), franked with French Ceres 4 x 25c and 1 x 30c, cancelled by “ML 1o” diamond lozenges, showing framed “PD” handstamp in red adjacent, with a series of transit mc.d.s and a very fine “FOOCHOWFOO / A” c.d.s. in blue ad handled by its British P.O. in Foochow. A rare mail since it is seldom to have Foochow mail in use of French adhesives and origin. Provenance: The Nostalgia Collection / InterAsia 6/2016.
