1864 (Oct 14) a letter franked with HK QV 48c (unwmk.) and 6c (wmk.) addressed to Rob. S. Sturgis Esq. Boston USA, cancelled by "B62" in blue color, red crayon manuscript rate 21/½(d), 1(d), red handstamp 5 CENTS, red c.d.s. "BOSTON BR. PKT. PAID / DEC 14", black oval FAC "FORWARDED BY RUSSELL & Co. HONG KONG". On the reverse, cancelled by another FAC "FORWARDED BY * BOSTON * H.P. STURGIS & Co.", oval datestamp "RECEIVED / DEC 15 / 1864 / H. P. S.", blue Hong Kong c.d.s. dated 14 OCT 1864. The two stamps of 54c overpaid by 1c which is normal due to difficult combination of stamps available. This is an extremely fine quality entire with two FAC cancellations, i.e. RUSSELL and H.P. STURGIS. Rare combination cover.
