Lot 1530

1850 USA (20 May) to Batavia via Hong Kong and London. Entire letter, rated "1/4", "2/4", applied with Hong Kong (22 Jul) transit cds and "SHIPLETTER VICTORIA HONGKONG" cachet. Then carried privately to London (27 Sep) but the postage from Britain to Batavia was yet to be collected and applied with "Detained for Postage" cachet. After the postage was settled, it was sent to Batavia (25 Feb 1851).

1850.5.20 美國經香港和倫敦寄巴達維亞。郵簡，寫有“1/4”及“2/4”郵資，鈐香港7.22中轉戳及維多利亞船信橫戳。隨後私人送遞至倫敦（9.27），因未付英國至海外郵資而蓋有“Detained for Postage”橫戳。郵資付訖後寄至巴達維亞（1851.2.25）。
