1842 China War Medal awarded to G.H. Harper onboard HMS Rattlesnake who participated the in Battle of the Canton. With pages of reference and documents about the medal. Suitable for further study. The China War Medal was issued by the British Government in 1843 to members of the British and Indian forces who took part in the First Opium War (1839–42). The medal was designed by William Wyon who was also a eminent engraver for its multiple classic British coinage designs.
