Lot 1014

Kuang Hsu Year 22 (1896) Official Yizhan cover from the Songpan Commander during his inspection in Shangbaozuo Camp to the head of Tibetan Tangke Tribe. Written in both Chinese and Tibetan. It is the only known Yizhan mail from a military camp to the Tibetan tribal area.

光緒二十二年（1896）驛站公文封，自松潘總兵諭唐個土百戶，自上包座大營發。唐個即現時“唐克”，位於川北若爾蓋草原深處，即使在1950年代亦僅有牧民50戶，驛站無法觸及，故經部落“莎數”制度由差民送遞，故寫有藏文，民間收藏僅見三件。
