1904 France (24 Mar) to Hoihao, Hainan Island, f.w. France issue 15c, tied by Paris cds. Transit Haiphong (27 Apr). In combination with French imperf postage due 15c + 5c, tied by "HOIHAO / ILE DE HAINAM" French PO (6 Oct) arrival cds. Very rare usage of French postage due stamps on Hainan Island. Although Hoihao PO was dependent on French Indochina, it was considered a French PO abroad and therefore 15c domestic rate did not apply. The correct rate should be 25c. Double of the due amount was imposed. A great rarity of French Post in China.

1904.3.24 法國寄海口，貼法國票15生丁，銷巴黎日戳。4.27經海防。加貼法國無齒欠資票15生丁 + 5生丁，銷海口法國客郵局10.6到達戳。進口海南島法國客郵局之欠資封十分稀罕少見。雖然海口法局隸屬於法屬印支，但被視為非殖民地之法國海外郵局，故15生丁國內郵資並不適用。正確郵資為25生丁，故罰雙倍欠資20生丁。法國在華客郵之一大珍品。
