1863 Shanghai (17 May) to France. Entire letter, with steamer and postage manuscript, applied with Shanghai French PO type Ch.1 cds., alongside with oval company seal. Transit Marseilles (8 Jul). Arrived St. Etienne. Very early usage of this type cds as the earliest recorded by Desrousseaux was Feb 1863. Tears on reverse.
