1844 Canton (28 Sep) to Frederick Huth Co., London. Entire letter, sent “via Marseilles” and rated “4/1”, applied with “Forwarded by W&T Edmond & Co / Bombay” seal and oval “INDIA” seal. Arrived London (3 Jan). Scarce wrongly rated example as there should be additional 4d charged on letter arriving from India. Scamp only recorded 7 covers of this rate and this example pre-dates the record of Scamp.
