1886 Nagasaki (1 Jan) to Italy, f.w. Hong Kong QV 10c in pair but uncancelled as Nagasaki BPO was already closed in 1879. On reverse with Nagasaki Japanese Post origin cds. Transit Yokohama (7 Jan), Napoli (22 Jan). Arrived Rome with oval handfilled company d.s. (12 Feb). The uncancelled Hong Kong stamps were not recognized as valid postage upon arrival at Italy. T mark and "0.50" due annotation were applied. In combination with Italian 50c postage due stamp in pair for double due amount. Exceptional taxed example due to the closure of British Post in Japan. Extremely scarce.

1886.1.1 長崎寄意大利，貼香港維多利亞女皇像10仙雙連，但由於長崎英國客郵局於1879年已關閉，故無蓋銷。背面蓋有長崎日本郵局始發日戳。1.7經橫濱，1.22經拿坡里。2.12抵羅馬，鈐手填橢圓形公司日戳。 由於香港票未有蓋銷，故不獲意大利郵政承認，被判為欠資。蓋有T章及寫有欠資“0.50”字樣，貼意大利欠資票50分雙連，以合雙倍罰資。因英國在日客郵局關閉而產生之欠資票，極為有趣難得。
